Fundación Amador is a non-profit organization, formed by a group of distinguished members of the Panamanian community. Its purpose is the development of a biodiversity tropical center in the Amador area, open to all the inhabitants of the world.
The financial aspects of the project have been fulfilled by the Autoridad de la Región Interoceánica (ARI), through the concession of a parcel of terrain destined to the construction of the project and the commercialization of the surrounding land. This will generate the necessary funds to make this important project real.
The project also has the unconditional support of one the most prestigious scientific and cultural institutions in the world: the Smithsonian Institute. The Smithsonian's interest is due to the special nature of the project in addition to the fact that the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) has been studying terrestrial and marine environments in Panama for 78 years, with outstanding results.
