Biodiversity is not only genetic, it is also behavioral. The actions of plants
and animals mold and change their environments. Much of the research
being done at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Barro
Colorado is about unraveling the reasons for, and the effects
of, the behaviors of its inhabitants.
These are amazing, delightful, and universally meaningful stories. Biodiversity
is all about communication.
